If you're looking to hunt trophy-class whitetails, keep your eyes peeled for large tracts of timber surrounded by lush farm fields.  I personally advocate and recommend the use of food plots, as it gives the deer something a little different to eat other than corn, alfalfa and native plants.  Wild turkeys are a similar story, sticking to their covered forests and eating in open fields during dusk and dawn
